Buy High-Quality Steel Beams at Ferrite Structural Steels Pvt Ltd. – India’s Leading Supplier, Manufacturer, Distributor and Exporter of Steel Products.
Steel beams are structural supports commonly used in construction and engineering, made from steel, an alloy known for its high strength and durability. They come in various shapes, including I-beams (or H-beams), which are characterized by their cross-section resembling the letter ‘I’ or ‘H’. These beams are essential for providing support in buildings, bridges, and other structures, helping to bear loads and resist bending and shear forces. Due to their versatility and strength, steel beams are integral in projects that require robust structural integrity, making them a crucial component in modern architecture and construction. Ferrite Structural Steel Pvt. Ltd. is a trusted steel beam supplier for diverse construction needs. Our steel beams are engineered for stability in building construction. Steel beams are pivotal in numerous industries due to their strength, durability, and versatility. Here are some key industries and applications where steel beams are extensively used:
These applications demonstrate the broad utility of steel beams across various fields, highlighting their importance as a structural component that meets diverse design and functional needs.
A steel beam is a structural member designed mainly to carry loads across a span and transfer them to columns, walls or foundations. Its web resists much of the shear force, while its flanges help resist bending.
Steel beams are widely used in buildings, factories, warehouses, bridges, platforms and industrial structures.
Ferrite’s published range includes:
Availability depends on the required material, section, grade, length, quantity and project specification.
An I-beam generally has a narrower flange relative to its depth and is commonly selected for efficient horizontal load carrying.
An H-beam normally has wider flanges and a section proportion suited to heavier structural requirements. However, the names are often used loosely, so buyers should order by the exact section designation and weight per metre rather than by shape name alone.
A universal beam is an I-shaped structural section designed mainly for bending and horizontal load-bearing applications. It is commonly identified by its nominal depth, flange width and section weight.
Ferrite’s universal-beam range also includes parallel-flange beam families such as NPB, IPE, HEA, HEB and HEM sections.
A universal beam is generally proportioned for horizontal bending loads, while a universal column normally has a broader, more compact section suited to vertical compression.
Either section may be used differently when approved by the structural designer. Buyers should therefore provide the exact UB or UC designation shown in the project drawing.
Ferrite’s published mild-steel beam range includes IS 2062 E250, IS 2062 E350, S275JR and S355J2. Its stainless steel beam range includes SS304L, SS310L and SS316L.
The final grade should be selected according to the project specification, required yield strength, welding requirements, toughness, corrosion exposure and service temperature.
Ferrite refers to IS 808, IS 1852 and IS 12779 alongside the applicable material grades.
IS 808 covers nominal dimensions, mass and sectional properties for hot-rolled beam, column, channel and angle sections. IS 12779 covers rolling and cutting tolerances for hot-rolled parallel-flange beam and column sections. These are standards, not material grades or company certifications.
Provide:
An enquiry such as “200 mm beam” is incomplete because different beam families can have the same nominal depth but different widths, thicknesses and weights.
Ferrite supplies multiple beam families, so there is no single size range that correctly represents the entire category.
For example, its universal-beam page currently lists sections from approximately 150 × 75 mm to 600 × 300 mm, while the joist page lists standard Indian beam-style sections up to 600 × 210 × 12 mm. Confirm availability using the complete section designation and required grade.
For a standard rolled beam:
Total weight = section weight in kg/m × beam length in metres × number of beams
For example, the official or manufacturer’s section table should be used to find the correct kg/m value. Do not estimate beam weight from depth alone because the web thickness, flange thickness and section family affect the result.
The weight cannot be calculated from length alone. A 20-foot beam may be light or very heavy depending on whether it is an ISMB, ISHB, IPE, UB, UC or another section.
Send the full designation—such as the section size and kg/m value—and Ferrite can prepare the theoretical total weight for quotation.
Send the beam type, section designation, grade, length, quantity, mill preference and delivery location.
Steel-beam prices change with the grade, section weight, source, order quantity, processing requirement, market rate and freight. For this reason, Ferrite should provide a dated requirement-based quotation instead of publishing a fixed online price range.
Steel beams may be quoted by kilogram, metric tonne, piece or full length.
The commercial quotation should clearly state:
This allows buyers to compare the total landed cost rather than only the basic rate.
Ferrite currently publishes an MOQ of 1 tonne onwards on its beam-category and several beam-product pages.
Smaller requirements may be considered from available stock, while non-standard sections, special grades, fabricated beams or fresh production may require a different minimum quantity.
Ferrite states that its steel products are supplied with Material Test Certificates.
Buyers requiring heat-number traceability, chemical and mechanical test results, third-party inspection or a specific document format should mention these requirements before the quotation and purchase order are finalised. Ferrite’s services page also lists third-party material inspection and NABL-approved laboratory test certificates.
Ferrite’s published universal-beam page lists makes including SAIL, RINL, Jindal and Tata, along with other sources.
Send the project-approved make list with the grade, section and quantity. The selected mill, material origin, MTC and permitted alternatives should be confirmed in the quotation. Availability from one specific mill depends on its current rolling programme and stock position.
Yes. Ferrite’s services include cut-to-size materials, CNC cutting, plasma cutting, welded engineering assemblies and custom structural fabrication through its associated PRECITECH facility.
Send the beam section, cut length, connection details, drawing, tolerances, welding specification, quantity and inspection plan so the processing scope can be reviewed before quotation.
Ferrite publicly confirms cut-to-size material, CNC and plasma cutting, SAW, TIG and MIG welding, floor-boring machinery and heavy structural fabrication.
Drilling, hole-making, notching, end-plate work or connection preparation should be confirmed against the approved fabrication drawing rather than assumed as a standard service for every beam order.
The beam size must be selected using the span, support arrangement, dead load, live load, equipment load, deflection limit, connection design, steel grade and applicable building code.
Ferrite can help identify available commercial sections and provide dimensional or weight information, but final beam sizing and structural approval should remain with the project’s authorised structural engineer.
Ferrite lists its sales office in Ghatkopar East, Mumbai, and its factory and stock location at KWC Kalamboli in the Navi Mumbai region.
Steel-beam enquiries can be handled for Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and industrial locations across Maharashtra. Dispatch to Gujarat, Karnataka, Goa and other project locations should be confirmed according to section length, total tonnage, vehicle availability and delivery route.
Ferrite Structural Steels Pvt. Ltd. manufactures and supplies steel beams for construction, infrastructure, PEB structures, warehouses, industrial buildings and heavy fabrication projects.
Buyers can source I-beams, H-beams, universal beams, universal columns and other structural sections according to the required grade, standard, size, length and project specification.
